My father was an army infantryman who retired in 1962. He fought in WWII and Korea. He fought in the Pacific theater and was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked on December 7th, 1941. He fought in the theater until the end of the war. He was called into service for the Korean War, and was captured. He spent nearly 4 1/2 years as a POW. Since my father and mother were both from West Virginia, they settled us there. We lived in West Virginia until I was almost 10 years old, when we moved to Columbus, GA in 1969.
I had a normal childhood riding bikes, playing baseball, fishing and stuff. In junior high I began playing the trumpet in band. I stayed in band throughout high school.
I enlisted in the Army before graduation, and reported for duty in November of 1977. I was an Army musician for the next 20 years. I met so many fine people during that time. I met my wife Terri in 1980, and we were married in 1981. She is the love of my life, and I am so blessed to have her.
We have two wonderful children, Amanda and Michael, and a beautiful grandson, Conner.
I am an information technology professional, and currently work for a small consulting firm supporting the Department of Homeland Security.
